Prof. Dr. Orlando Guntinas-Lichius

Orlando Guntinas-Lichius is the Director and Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology in Jena.

His research is focused on better diagnostics and treatment of facial palsy. The department maintains a large Facial-Nerve-Center. Here, a multidisciplinary team is analyzing the interaction between facial palsy and emotional disabilities. Another focus is the better understanding of cortical processing of multisensory information for healthy and sick people, for instance the interaction between balance and hearing information.
