Prof. Dr. Ildiko Rita Dunay

Ildiko Rita Dunay is the head of the Institute of Inflammation and Neurodegeneration at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Her major research expertise is the functional characterization of resident and recruited immune cell subsets in the periphery and in the central nervous system in models of infection induced neuroinflammation. In particular her group is focusing on the investigation of the communication between innate immune cells with neurons. She will contribute to the exploration of immune cells and soluble factors obtained from models and also from patients with psychiatric diseases to improve diagnosis and treatment.
