Dr. Sanja Bauer Mikulovic

Sanja Bauer Mikulovic is head of the newly established research group at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in Magdeburg.  She runs a research program on how cognition and emotion are interacting in the brain and how these processes influence learning and social interactions. Her major expertise is neural circuits investigation using electrophysiology, Calcium imaging and optogenetics. She will contribute with the research line on how chronic stress and anxiety influence social interactions and the underlying neural mechanisms. She will collaborate with the groups of A. Albrecht, S. Remy, J. Pakan, O. Stork, M. Sauvage, I. Dunay in Magdeburg and R. Stumm in Jena.
